  Marmon-Harrington All-Wheel-Drive converted Ford 1/2 ton truck. Sometimes called the "Grandfather of the Jeep". Delivered in small numbers to the Belgian Army and some other countries circa 1936.
Bantam BRC Jeep The original jeep, called the "Light Reconnaissance" Vehicle in 1940. Designed by American Bantam Car Company under the direction of Karl K Probst.
Ford GP The GP was Ford's design for 1941 US Army production orders for the jeep, following Ford's successful Pygmy. GP was Ford's nomenclature, "G" for US Government contract production and "P" for 80 in. wheelbase Reconaissance Car. The Army standardized on the similar Willy's design which was designated the GPW when produced by Ford.
